Slap-headed hairy-faced midget man Dan is the driving force behind Electric Buddha Tattoo. This self-confessed Geek opened the studio on 3rd February 2004 and since then the studio has slowly gone from strength to strength.
Dan was born the son of a man and woman some many years ago and has near enough clutched some kind of drawing implement in his grubby little paws for most of his life (although this has often proved problematic when eating or washing his face etc.). Having drawn stuff for most of his life he decided, at the age of 16, that he should go to college. Packing everything he owned into a red and white spotted handkerchief tied onto a stick he journeyed to the local art collage to study Product Design. Here he stayed for 2 years, eventually gaining a Btec NDD in Product Design and accumulating one or two rather massive hangovers.
From there young Dan travelled on to another place of learning to learn Modelmaking, but discovered to his chagrin that everything a modelmaker uses is toxic. Upon finishing the course he became a barman!
Dan only discovered his love for Tattoos and Tattooing a mere 7 years ago, one year prior to the start of his apprenticeship. Once he received his first tattoo, there was a blinding light, some garbled sound and suddenly there was an epiphany! And it was there and then that Dan decided he wanted to be a tattoo artist! He then, luckily, found himself in the right place at the right time and an apprenticeship was offered, and taken!
Nearly 6 years down the road, Dan has since worked in Canterbury, Maidstone and Medway before settling at his very own studio in sunny Ramsgate (we have a beach, and apparently it’s ok!) where he has now become part of the local community! Not preferring any one particular style over any other, Dan is more than happy grinning away like a mad chimp while listening to indie music and tattooing!
